Alerts & Notifications

PoolOps keeps you and your team in the loop through two separate messaging areas — the Inbox and the Notifications page. Here's how they work.

The bell icon

The bell icon in the top navigation bar shows a red dot when there are unread items. Click it to open a quick-view panel, or navigate to the full Notifications page from the sidebar.

Inbox vs Notifications

These are two distinct areas:

  • Inbox — incoming messages. This is where you'll find visit requests submitted by pool owners through the Poolside app, and any support queries. Think of it as your inbound tray.
  • Notifications — outbound message history. This shows all the messages and notifications that have been sent out from your account to technicians and pool owners.

Sending a message to a technician or owner

From the Notifications page, click + New message. Then:

  1. Choose the recipient type — Technician or Pool owner.
  2. Select the person from the list.
  3. Type your message.
  4. Click Send.

Technicians receive messages as push notifications on their mobile app. Pool owners receive them via push notification in the Poolside app.

Flagged readings alerts

When a technician records a chemical reading that's outside the normal range, the job card on the schedule is highlighted in red. You'll also see a summary of flagged readings in the Notifications area so nothing gets missed.

Replying to an Inbox message

Open the message in the Inbox and type your reply in the reply field at the bottom. Pool owners will receive your reply as a push notification in the Poolside app.
